The North Carolina Student Academy of Science is a state level competition that has 2 stages, the regional level and the state wide level
The North Carolina Student Academy of Science (NCSAS) is an organization for students in grades 6-12 in alliance with the North Carolina Academy of Science (NCAS). Â Our research sharing events (or research competition) allow spaces for students to share research, just like professionals share.
JSHS promotes research and experimentation at the high school level and supports students’ future STEM pursuits through scholarships and recognition. Registering for JSHS is of no cost to student participants.

The NC International Science Challenge (NCISC) is an annual scientific contest designed for high school students. Participants are tasked with embarking on a STEM research project, composing an abstract that elucidates their research quandary, and delivering a presentation of their research or project before a panel of scientists and engineers.
Ecybermission is a competition for 9th graders only. It is funded by AEOP and the US Army, and works to encourage students into research.

Well established as the Biotechnology Institute's "flagship" program, the BioGENEius Challenge Series provides high school age students with expanded opportunity to compete and be recognized for outstanding research in biotechnology.
GENIUS Science provides understanding and solutions to environmental problems using scientific knowledge. Students are expected to present a solution using scientific methods for a problem.
